article imageAnother human foot found in Canada

Another human foot was found on a beach near the west coast city of Vancouver, Canada. This is the fifth human foot found so far and only the first left foot.
This case is baffling Vancouver residents and the police: feet are washing up one at a time at various places. So far four right feet with shoes and socks washed up and now a walker spotted a left foot floating in the water off the suburb of Westham Island in British Columbia.
Running shoes were found, confusing the people even further.
Police and coroners are trying to find whether the left foot matches with the other body parts found. Police earlier speculated that the bodies may have been in the waters for a long time -- body parts get separated from the main body and washes up ashore.
Police spokesman, PC Sharlene Brooks told BBC:
"We are certainly not discounting the possibility that this may be linked to the other recovered feet, but it is just too premature and very speculative for us to even entertain that right now."
Brooks said it will take some time to investigate whether the DNA found in the left foot matches either with other feet or any missing person’s.
Last August, two human feet washed up on the beaches of small islands north of Vancouver. Then in February a third single, right foot drifted ashore. The fourth foot was discovered on a beach in suburban Vancouver in May.
The local residents and newspapers have various heories to explain this mystery such as the 2004 Asian tsunami incident, organized crime activities or boating accidents. But nothing has been confirmed yet.
Police also didn’t find any conclusive evidence that the foot was deliberately severed or removed by force.
The mystery deepens in Vancouver. I hope the Vancouver police get a good break soon and solve it before they find another foot or other body part.
