Majority of Americans Feel Obama Will Win, According To New Poll

There has been a new consistency in information in many of the newly released polls, most have seemed in favor of presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois. Keep in mind, there are many poll results that do put Obama in a tight race with presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona. The latest Gallup Poll results give the indication that a majority of Americans believe that Obama will win the election. However, the results could change at any given moment in the future. So far, Obama holds a double-digit lead over McCain in this poll. He leads McCain by 52 to 41 percent. Of all Democrats that have voted in the poll, seventy-six believe that Obama will win the US Presidency. Of all Republicans that voted in the poll, sixty-seven percent believe that McCain will win the US Presidency. But the main X-factor of the elections would be the Independents. In the Democratic primary, Obama received much support from Independent voters. Senator Hillary Clinton of New York was not as lucky. Clinton’s support had come mainly from the Democratic constituency. The other bloc known as the Clinton supporters should not be discounted as a possible X-factor as well. In a 50 to 41 percent result, Independents feel that it will be Obama who ends up taking the US Presidency this November. Still, both candidates have enjoyed much needed support from this known swing bloc of voters. The poll also reveals that the older Americans feel that it will be Obama and not McCain that ends up winning. While Obama has been getting support from younger voters, that newly empowered voting bloc is split on who will win in November. However, this poll was conducted by interviews of only 822 people. In a nutshell, the poll says that the majority of Americans that took the poll feel that Obama will win. But, only 822 adults were interviewed nationwide. Many could say that this poll result is “pitiful” at best.
