Already boiling the blood of certain political factions is a report from CNN's Political Ticker that mentions that President George Bush floated the idea of Jeb Bush possibly running for president in the future.
When a SkyNews correspondent asked President George Bush if whether the end of his term as president would mark the end of a Bush presidential dynasty which started with his father George H.W. Bush, 20 years ago, Bush replied "Well, we've got another one out there who did a fabulous job as governor of Florida, and that's Jeb."
He then said that any other questions about that would have to be referred to Jeb Bush.
Laura Bush followed up by adding that both brothers entered the political arena to serve the country was because of the example shown to them by their father when she was asked whether her husband would be "the last Bush", she concluded with, "Well, who knows. We'll see."
Jeb Bush was formerly the 43rd Governor of Florida when he defeated the Democratic opponent Lt. Governor Buddy MacKay by over 418,000 votes, in 1998.
The Florida Governor's race attracted national attention when Jeb Bush was re-elected in November 2002, becoming the first Republican in the state's history to be re-elected as Governor.
Bush defeated Democratic challenger Bill McBride with 56 percent to 43 percent, a greater margin of victory than in Bush's 1998 campaign for the Governor's office. He also increased the number of counties in his victory column, winning several Florida counties for the very first time.
More on Jeb Bush at Wikipedia, for reference.
Immediately after the Political Ticker report was published, reactions came out of the Shakesville blog who declared, "I'd literally vote for a bag of vomit before I'd vote for Jeb Bush."

Anyone hear heads exploding yet?
-
Normally, heads probably would explode. But living in Florida, it's not surprising. The possibility of Jeb running for President in the future has been in the air.
I hear this from both Democrats and Republicans in Florida, Jeb's considered the Golden Child of the family.
I do think McCain may need Jeb's help if he wants to win Florida. Also, it would probably help McCain's standing with the Latino community.

I lived in Florida while Jeb was Governor, he was great, so Floridians aren't the problem.
The only heads that would explode are those that know nothing about Jeb Bush nor how well thought of he is in Florida, but those with BDS syndrome won't care about his history, his political work, his popularity as a Republican in a state that leans toward Democratic.
As evidenced by Shakesville.

Jeb's considered the talented one of the family from what I've heard.

Jeb's considered the talented one of the family from what I've heard.
Yes he is. He is laid back, always has a smile and the very fact that he was the first Republican in the state's history to be re-elected as Governor, with Florida leaning toward the Democratic party, should tell people something.
As I have said before though, their are certain factions of the far far far left liberal party, the BDS crowd (and No I do not mean ALL liberals or everyone that dislikes or disagrees with Bush- just those that blame him for rain, lightening, a bad hair day and when they stub their toe) that would rather stab themselves in the ear with a screw driver than admit that Jeb is a good guy or has done wonderful things.
As I said, I lived in Florida while he served... I was a native, lived in Florida for the first 34 years of my life, so I know his qualities... yet, more reactions are already coming out, and no one but you, has mentioned the man, his work, his history.... just that he is a BUSH!!!
-
If I can recall correctly... This was a few years back when I heard this. I do know that they were expecting Jeb to eventually run for the US Presidency. It's already a given that Jeb is the more talented one of the family.
This is what I heard. Keep in mind it was quite awhile ago. When George W said he was running, his parents were shocked. The type of got hit by a brick wall shocked.

Well I'm not surprised by the reaction of the media to the idea of another Bush possibly running seeing as how Georgie is so unpopular right now. But the public has a short memory and if the discussion following this article is any indication of the quality of the man himself who knows, he may even become a future pres. Good report and discussion you two.

Just peeking in before movie time, but thanks for the comments Can Tran.
Thanks to you too Sheba and I agree, people need to look at the man, his record, his popularity after running and serving two terms and not just his last name.
The only reason he couldn't run for the third time was the term limits but no one questioned whether he would have won or not.
Still, it was amusing to see the knee jerk reactions around the web and it goes to show the quality of people at DJ that both of you who has commented here both addressed the man....not the name.

So now we go from having "yellow dog" Democrats (those who would vote for a yellow dog before voting Republican) to "bag of vomit" Democrats?
Classy!
Long live the party of the Elite!

if another Bush ends up in the Oval Office, there will be a revolution.

You know what if Jeb ran and his big brother was no where in sight for the administration I would think about voting for him. Let`s just say with four major hurricanes in one year during Jeb`s watch not one of them came close to Katrina`s aftermath. That in itself states the way his government ran things. Educationally he was lacking but the state of Florida schools has been in the toilet for decades.
