A New York Judge ruled against the trust fund of Leona Helmsley’s dog by reducing it from $12 million to $2 million. The difference will go to Helmsley's charities.
Leona Helmsley died last August but she created a huge controversy by leaving more than $12 million for her beloved dog “Trouble.” The dog received much more than any of Helmsley’s relatives including her own brother, Alvin Rosenthal. It was reported last year in Digital Journal by Jaguar, who called the dog “
one rich bitch”.
Manhattan Surrogate Judge Renee Roth
reduced the dog's trust fund set by Leona Helmsley from $12 million to $2 million. The remainder of the funds will be donated to Helmsley’s charitable foundation.
Today, Trouble, the 9-year-old Maltese, lives in Florida at the Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel with the general manager.
The judge made this decision April 30 but it was revealed only today to the public.
Helmsley will be stirring up in her grave after this decision but I think is a good one. The funds will now go to charitable causes and will help pets in rescue shelters.
