Presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona has weighed in on the situation revolving around presumed Democratic nominee Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, and his wife, Michelle.
Michelle Obama, the wife of presumed Democratic nominee, Senator Barack Obama of Illinois, has been on the receiving end of heat from the Republican National Committee (RNC). Presumed GOP nominee Senator John McCain of Arizona has weighed in on the situation.
McCain did not attack Obama’s wife. Instead, McCain came to Michelle Obama’s defense. He demanded that his wife and Obama’s wife to be treated with respect. He complimented her and Barack Obama. Then he proceeded to talk about how Americans want him and Obama to have a respectable campaign.
Before touching up on other subjects, McCain said that he admired both Obama and his wife. He said anybody that is being disrespectful to his wife or Obama’s wife should be rejected.
Asides from defending Obama’s wife, McCain addressed his VP search. So far, McCain is contemplating picking former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney as his VP running mate.
In the past, Romney said he was not interested.
In the GOP race, many have thought it would be between McCain and Romney for the GOP nomination. However, Romney had dropped out of the Republican race after the results of the Super Tuesday contests on February 5.
McCain had also addressed the request to have 10 joint town hall meetings with Obama. However, the Obama campaign has rejected the call for the 10 unmoderated town hall from now until the Democratic National Convention in August.
