Iran's nuclear programme has to be stopped by all possible means and that is exactly what Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert thinks.
Olmert took a trip to Washington and while he was there he said that Tehran needs to see it would suffer devastating repercussions if it continues its pursuit of atomic weapons.

Other countries, as well as the U.S., has accused Iran of building a nuclear arms capability and Tehran has stuck by its claims that the programme is peaceful, of course.

Olmert faces his own problems at home such as corruption allegations while he is in the states. Olmert has denied the allegations.

Olmert spoke in front of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, a lobby group, and told them that the Iranian threat needs to be stopped and that means by "all means necessary".

Olmert also said that the international community has a duty and responsibility to clarify to Iran, by taking drastic measures, that repercussions of their continued pursuit of nuclear weapons will be extremely devastating.

Sources say that this was Olmert's strongest warning to Iran so far.

After Olmert's comments a speech was made by Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and he said that his country would not make nuclear weapons but they would still continue its civilian nuclear programme.

On Wednesday Olmert will discuss Iran's nuclear issue with President George W Bush.

This seems like a bad situation and it looks like a war with Iran could be in the near future. I wonder what Bush is going to do because he is only in office for another six months. It seems like the next president is going to have his hands filled.
