A final party bidding the farewell to "booze on the Tube" got a little out of hand as drunk Brits caused their finale of problems prior to the official alcohol ban takes effect.
As of Sunday, June 1, no more open containers will be allowed on the London Underground and in celebration of this sad event, local residents held a blowout bash, packing the Tube with drunken mayhem.
Members of the popular social network, Facebook, organized the party called "Last Orders On The Underground", with over 100 people providing an RSVP to the party.
The ban was announced in May by London's Mayor, Boris Johnson, in an effort to make public transportation safer and more pleasant.
The party itself was organized by a 26-year-old City Banker named Alexandre Graham who worked for the Royal Bank of Scotland.
According to a London news site, the party spiraled out of control, creating riots resulting in police and Tube staff being assaulted by drunk and angry party goers. Overcrowding also caused major disruption in the normal stops and even caused the closure of certain stops such as the Liverpool Street Station.
What more justification would Mayor Johnson require than the images from the final blowout bash on the Circle line? Good call on the ban.
