Grace Mugabe, the wife of Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has decided to give her two cents on the issue. She certainly has a lot to speak on her mind.
The wife of Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe, Grace Mugabe, has spoken clearly on her stance towards the post-election crisis and the upcoming runoff elections. Grace Mugabe certainly had some interesting things to say towards opposition candidate Morgan Tsvangirai of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

This latest remark could possibly put Robert Mugabe and his administration in hot water. It could also bring forth further backlash and criticism from the international community. Robert Mugabe has already been criticized for election results. Many have said that Tsvangirai has won the elections. But, Tsvangirai does not have the majority vote needed to avoid a runoff election.

The top US diplomat for Africa, Jindayi Frazer, accused Mugabe and his administration for trying to steal the election in order to remain in power. Frazer had sought out UN sanctions against Zimbabwe. However, Mugabe brushed all criticisms aside and said that there was a conspiracy to remove him from power.

Grace Mugabe has now spoken and said that Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC will never be allowed to take power. Recently, Tsvangirai’s MDC has won the parliamentary elections. She said that her husband will never leave his office. Grace Mugabe adds that it does not matter if her husband loses the runoff election.

She has made it clear that Robert Mugabe’s Zanu-PF Party will not allow the MDC to take power.

Even if people vote for the MDC, Morgan Tsvangirai will never step foot inside State House,” Grace Mugabe said.

Mugabe and his administration had blamed the MDC for the violence that has plagued Zimbabwe. However, many human rights groups along with the United Nations have said other wise. They blamed Mugabe’s party for sparking most of the violence and bloodshed since the March 29 elections.

Mugabe’s administration has been accused of using intimidation tactics to remain in power.

Recently, South African President Thabo Mbeki sent a letter to US President George W. Bush, telling him to stay out of it. Mbeki has also been criticized for his stance on Zimbabwe.
