A British mother gave birth to healthy twins but she and her husband abandoned them immediately at a hospital because they wanted boys.
The mother, 59 and the father, 72, conceived in India with in-vitro treatment and returned back to England to give birth.

After the Caesarean pregnancy, the couple told the shocked doctors and nurses in New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton, that they did not want the “wrong sex” babies.

The husband then sought advice from the doctor at the hospital. He wanted to know how soon her wife would be fit to undergo another IVF treatment, so that they can get a boy or boys to continue their family name.

One of the NHS employees at the hospital told The Sun:

Everyone is utterly appalled. How could any parent do this?…This is Britain in the 21st century…But they just weren’t prepared to raise these two beautiful girls.

The mother also left the hospital in a hurry despite being advised by doctors to stay at the hospital for a few more weeks.

Abandoning babies in Britain is a rare occurrence compared to some Asian countries, where some parents abandon female babies or undergo abortions (female infanticide).

The parents were born in India but are British citizens living in Birmingham, according to The Sun. They had fertility treatment in India because it is illegal in Britain at an advanced age.

The babies were then transferred to a central NHS hospital in Birmingham. They are healthy and doing well. But sadly the babies have had no visitors since being born a fortnight ago.

The local police have not yet decided to file a case against the parents.

I hope the babies get a better adoptive parents than these two.
