What ever happened in the case of the empirical judge who allegedly ruled her courtroom like she was a queen? The Nevada Supreme Court said Judge Elizabeth Halverson must be allowed back into her courtroom.
In a story that was a bit bizarre in that it involved a judge being locked out of her courtroom for allegations of abusing her staff by forcing them do inappropriate things and a supposed case of discrimination, the Nevada Supreme Court has made its ruling.
Judge Elizabeth Halverson was suspended on charges of judicial misconduct and creating a hostile work environment shortly after being sworn in as a Vegas judge. There also appeared to be some hard feelings against Judge Halverson by Chief Clark County District Court Judge, Kathy Hardcastle who locked Halverson out of her office and initiated the suspension.
Halverson worked for Hardcastle as a clerk, before Hardcastle fired her. Halverson also ran against Hardcastle's husband, and lost, for a position in family court.
According to a Vegas
news report, it was ruled that Halverson "immediately" be allowed back into her courtroom as well as Hardcastle must justify her actions to the Supreme Court by a specified date.
It was also ruled that Judge Halverson comply with the same protocols applicable to other judges.
The allegations of abuse, mistreatment and leading by scepter proved false and the justice system proved to be on the side of Judge Halverson. As far as her going back to the bench, she will most likely be under a
watchful eye.
