Moveon.org's Bush Is Hitler Ad
Joe Lieberman is run out of the party. The Obamas attend the 'church' of a paranoid racist for over 20 years and befriend unrepentant terrorists. MoveOn calls Petraeus a traitor and Bush Hitler. Now KOS depicts the GOP as the Klan. Where is the sanity?
"We own the Democratic Party." - Moveon.Org

First off, I must to state for the record here that I believe most Americans are open-minded, sensible and reasonable people, and that includes many Democrats.

Also to be fair, both parties have had their share of embarrassing extremists over the years.

Reagan's Interior Secretary James Watt once stated that we should strip-mine national preserves because Jesus is coming, and while we're at it why don't we build him a landing strip in Yellowstone for the reception?

So-called 'Christian' leaders on the right claimed that AIDS and 9/11 happened to America because of God's anger over homosexuality.

Also, considering that most anti-abortion extremists who have bombed clinics or sniped physicians who performed abortions are considered right-wing, Republicans have to live with that too. As I suppose we must with David Duke, who ran as a GOP candidate (without the backing of the party, I might add. Just the opposite).

As a conservative Republican, I repudiate them all with extreme prejudice.

They do not act or speak for me, as I'm sure they don't for most Americans.

They are all, in fact, as un-American as you can get.

I am pro-choice, and I am all for pushing the limits of freedom of expression as far as they can go in forums like this, other blogs and LiveLeak. I've been to countries under martial law and have no desire to see that happen here.

My point being, they do not represent conservative Republicans like me, and none of those 'right-wing extremists' have ever held significant power within the GOP.

At least nothing like the power, money and influence many hateful, unreasonable and over-the-cliff left-wing extremists now wield in the Democratic party of today.

Like KOS, for example.

The recent KOS article PhotoShopping Southern Republicans as Klansmen branding and lynching Michelle Obama is a prime example.

For those of you who missed it.

Republican Strategy: Lynch Michelle Obama

This is not a political reality in today's South.

It is hate-inspired propaganda meant to inflame, no less than one of Rev. Wright's most heinous 'black theology sermons.'

It is meant to demonize political opponents.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Unfortunately, that particular madness permeates nearly every political discussion out there at sites like KOS, HuffPo and MoveOn.org, who routinely call American soldiers Nazis, conservatives Fascists or Klansmen, and joke about assassinating the president in their Kill Bush tee shirts.

None of it is meant to enrich the political debate.

It is meant to sabotage it.

It is meant to brand political opponents not as competitors, but as enemies who need to be silenced and crushed, and even assassinated. Just like the old Soviet Kommissars used to do by branding everyone who disagreed with them a 'counter-revolutionary,' which was in effect a death sentence under Stalin.

Since I wrote yesterday on that KOS article, I've been thinking how much reason is the exception and not the rule when it comes to debating any social or political subject with liberal left-wing Democrats.

You can't do it.

Hell, Bush can't even bring up the fact that appeasing unappeasable enemies like Hitler only leads to disaster, a fact history has shown us time and time again, without foaming-at-the-mouth rage from the left.

What it should have led to was an honest debate on whether terrorist groups and states like Iran, Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah can even be negotiated with in good faith given their extremist positions and statements, and their bloodlust for destroying Israel and committing genocide of the Jews.

It is in our national interest to debate and settle these important questions through reasonable and civil debate, considering all that is at stake for us and our allies.

Instead, it just led to another Two Minutes Hate against Bush.

And an editorial from the Seattle Times' Bruce Ramsay justifying Hitler's violent overthrow of Austria as a 'bloodless annex' as left-wing counterpoint.

Does Mr. Ramsay really believe that, or does he just suffer from Bush Derangement Syndrome so badly he'd even justify one of Hitler's most egregious acts in response?

And that was all just from one statement we know from history is historical fact.

Fact is, facts don't matter.

Winning the 'Progessive' argument is all, no matter how insane the reasoning.

And if that means mindless raging and tossing around a few epithets to intimidate and stifle debate, that works too.

Try to debate the controversy over illegal immigration from a purely legal standpoint.

Try to present the evidence of all the harm being done through the burdens on our social systems, identity fraud and theft and other criminal, drug and gang activities by illegals, or that we need to secure our border like every other nation on earth does, including Mexico, which has machine gun nests set up on the Guatemala-Mexico border.

You can't, because you're a bigot and a racist for even bringing it up.

Try talking about the threat posed by Islamist jihadis who have committed over 10,000 terrorist attacks worldwide since 9/11, or the fact that anti-Semitism and brutality against women is rampant in the Muslim world, or that Islam is in need of the same Reformation Catholics went through hundreds of years ago to bring the Church out of the Dark Ages.

You can't, because you're a racist bigot and an Islamophobe, as there really is nothing to fear.

Like Michael Moore said, 'there is no terrorist threat.'

Or as one left-wing DJ troller called Islamists, 'the new GOP bogeymen to replace the Commies.'

Like the only thing this nation ever really had to fear was the Republican party.

Go ahead. Pick a subject.

Any subject.

Doesn't matter.

Global Warming? You're on par with Holocaust deniers if you don't believe it.

President Bush? He's Hitler reincarnated.

9/11? A black bag job only BushCo Hitlerites could pull off, all to start a Christian war with Islam and seize oil fields. (something 36% of mostly Democrat Americans believe, by the way)

Southern Republicans? They're Klansmen.

Fox News? Josef Goebbels' Reichministry redux.

Just look at the hell Obama and Hillary both took by the left for daring to appear in interviews there. And that's mild stuff.

Just for the hell of it, let's see what passes for reasoned political debate right now.

I'll pick at random from some popular left-wing blogs.

Let's see what's cooking over at KOS, one of the top ten ranked blogs in the country.

From the Midday Thread:

"Appalachian whites are different than whites elsewhere, no matter how much the media can't grasp that simple fact."

Of course they're not.

They're toothless moonshine-drinkin' sister-bangin' Klansmen straight out of Deliverance.

Here's a slam on Joe Lieberman, whom KOS took a personal interest in driving from office for radical right-wing positions like these:

"How did the Democratic Party get here? How did the party of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman and John F. Kennedy drift so far from the foreign policy and national security principles and policies that were at the core of its identity and its purpose?"

Every day, Lieberman makes it harder for Democrats to keep him in their caucus

Keep it up Joe, keep it up.

Ya, what a radical right-wing statement from a liberal Democrat run out of the party on a rail by 'progressives' like Markos Moulitsas and MoveOn.org.

Unlike, say, something sensible.

Like taking out a full-page ad in the New York Times to call one of our top commanders in the field a traitor.

Or this:

All of which originated from highly popular lefty blogs.

Here's a few good ones from the Huffington Post, ranked #7 in the nation:

'McCain's Pastor Problem: 'Hitler was fulfilling God's Will for Israel.'

No pastor problem with Jeremiah Wright, though:

'How Wright Rant Helped Obama.'

This, from HuffPo's Dennis Perrin's 'Fear of a Black Prez':

Then there are those whites who, no matter how softly and sweetly Obama sells it, cannot get past the man's skin tone and "un-American" name.

For them, there is no post-racial time, since all they see is race and the stereotypes and hysteria that feed their perceptions. There are countless white people like this, spread throughout the country. I'm sure you've known or met your share. I certainly have. Hell, I'm related to some of them.

As we saw with Jeremiah Wright, a lot of whites don't want to hear about black suffering, and tend to get nasty and defensive when faced with these critiques.

Okay, let me get this straight.

McCain's pastor interpreted, as many Christians and Jews have, the Holocaust as an horrific event in history that led to the beneficent outcome for Jews of the formation of the state of Israel.

That's the big problem for McCain.

Yet Wright's racist rants about the white government injecting black babies with AIDS, selling drugs to black people and building the prisons to throw them in, Romans as 'garlic noses' and Jesus crucifixion as a 'public lynching Italian-style,' that's all just 'black suffering' and anyone who thinks otherwise is just a white racist 'feeding their hysteria and perceptions.'

How do you even get to a mindset like that?

Why can't they discuss subjects reasonably?

Debate the issues on their merits, without resorting to epithets and rage?

Are they so unsure of their positions they can't stand being challenged?

Or are they as far gone in their madness and hatred as the Stalinist Soviet Union and Hitler's Nazi Germany used to be?

In all honesty, I suppose I could be considered a radical too. I have a body of work here at Digital Journal that is anything but objective.

Yet in most every case, my radicalism is driven by my outrage at what is happening on the extreme left in this country, and with the Democrat Party's seeming inability to counter or speak out against it.

Or worse, their own silence or complicity because of the political power and money the extreme left has to wield at their disposal.

The lesson of Joe Lieberman isn't lost on them.

Nobody wants to be the next one in blackface, blowing President Bush, or threatened with being run out of office by those who could really pull it off.

The truth of the matter is, all we Americans need to debate the great issues of our times that we face as a nation, be it gay marriage vs. civil unions, the Iraq War, the economy, illegal immigration, Global Warming science vs. theory, the threat of radical Islam, civil liberties vs. national security, which nations and organizations we can and need to be diplomatic with, and those we must be forceful with in our own national interest.

The problem is, too many powerful 'progressive' organizations, blogs and media outlets like KOS, MyDD, Media Matters, HuffPo, and MoveOn.org, and all their legions of extreme left-wing true believers, won't let us have those discussions. And their omnipresent influence in Washington prevents reasonable Democrats from engaging in those discussions as well.

At least not without facing severe consequences.

Trying to bring up any of the extreme left's pet subjects for rational debate is like Emmanuel Goldstein on the video screen trying to reason with the raging mobs of Big Brother's Two Minutes Hate.

There is no reason in them.

They pressure political candidates to withdraw from Fox News debates and interviews because they hate Fox News.

They place ads like the one I embedded here because they hate Bush.

They constantly depict their political opponents as racists, fascists, bigots, Islamophobes, xenophobes and Nazis.

And oh yeah, Klansmen.

Because they are closed minds that hate everyone who doesn't share their narrow world views.

They detest America, the freest, most egalitarian and most generous nation on earth, which has shed oceans of blood and treasure in the cause of liberty, as a warmongering bastion of slavery, racism, sexism, homophobia, oppression and capitalist blood thirst.

In other words, Freedom Is Slavery.

Sound familiar?

Manipulation of perceived reality was Big Brother's stock in trade.

Orwell meant it as a cautionary tale.

To the extreme left, it is an instruction manual.

And they associate with, refuse to repudiate and even praise the worst of American society, be it the paranoid racist Rev. Wright, unrepentant domestic terrorist bombers Bernardine Dohrn and William Ayers (who was quoted in the 9/11/2001 New York Times as saying "we didn't do enough"') Al Sharpton, Louis Farrakhan and other radical anti-Semites.

And the fact that they all wield so much political power, money and influence that can affect the outcome of so many electoral races, including that of the Presidency, should be enough to give all reasonable Americans considerable pause.

If history has taught us anything, it is of the dangers of letting one extreme or the other gain considerable political power in any nation.

Regardless of ideology, the end result is always the same. And it's never good.

As for me, just once I'd like to have a reasonable debate on ANY subject with someone on the Left without being called a Nazi, a Fascist, a racist, a bigot or a Klansman.

Not holding my breath on that one.

I'll let any comments speak for themselves.
