A Russian school gave the kiddies more than just soup for lunch in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, in eastern Russia. The students who were aged 13-15 were also given the drug ecstasy.
The young teens who ate lunch at the school in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, in eastern Russia were rather unruly to say the least. Some were tearing their clothes off, some were rolling on the floor and laughing hysterically, and some were committing acts of hooliganism - destroying school property.
Russian authorities and medical first responders initially thought the students might have been drinking alcohol, but Russian Prosecutors later found traces of opiates and amphetamines in the water which was used in the soup the teens ate.
Opiates and amphetamines are used in the production of the date rape drug ecstasy. Ecstasy at high doses can be physically dangerous, and very high doses can be a lethal toxin.
While an investigation is
still underway, there are at this time no suspects who have been charged for the incident. No students seem to have been permanently harmed by what may have been a student prank, or an idiotic move on the part of one or more staff members in the kitchen.
