With 20 per cent of the vote in, Hillary leads in West Virginia 63 per cent to 30 per cent. Hillary said, "Tonight I need your help to continue this journey."
She owes herself $11 million , and has been called a long shot for the Democrat nomination for President in 2008. However, as she says, "This race isn't over yet, neither of us has the total delegates it takes to win."
In an attempt to claim more delegates in speech tonight, Clinton stated that she and Obama feel that the delegates in Florida and Michigan should be seated. She also called for her supporters to got to HillaryClinton.com to donate to her campaign.
It is projected that Hillary won West Virginia, and some speculate she will carry on the tradition that no Democrat has made it to the White House since 1916 without winning West Virginia.
Seventy-two per cent of voters polled by Fox News believed Hillary should keep in the running. Polls also indicate that she won 69 percent of whites and 70 percent of women. She also held a lead in church goers, those with no university degree and 53 per cent of college graduates, 69 percent of low income voters, the majority of those effected negatively by the economy and a significant amount of independents.
Obama won 51 percent of voters looking for change, those who are not effected by negative economy, those who feel race should be over and those who believe he doesn't support Reverend Wright.
West Virginia is mostly concerned about the economy with 88 percent of tonight voters saying they have been affected by the downturn in some way. 70 percent of the voters feel that Clinton shares their values; an answer that could be indicative of a backlash by Obama's previous "bitter mid westerners" statements.
In her victory speech Hillary pitched for further support from Democrats and all voters.
"I want to send a message to everyone still making up their mind, I am in this race because I believe I am the strongest Candidate. The strongest candidate to lead our party in Nov. 2008 and the strongest to lead our nation in Jan. 2009."

70 percent of the voters feel that Clinton shares their values Just once, I'd like these voters to describe to me what "values" Hillary shares with them. The ability to lie at will? The ability to "lend" herself 11 million dollars? To be absolutely ruthless with those she perceives as the enemy? To demand that rules be changed just to suit her? Whacked.
-
lol, yeah I know what you mean. Read Crazies to the Left of Me, and Wimps to the Right, the first chapter might put thier perceptions into perspective.
Personally, after thinking long and hard about it, I think Michigan and Florida should be allowed to vote, it is simply un-American to not count a citizen's vote.

Come on, Carolyn, don't hold back, tell us what you REALLY think :)

I agree, and the DNC, as well as Florida and Michigan, have handled this situation completely out of whack from the get-go. I don't know how to possibly rectify the situation at this point without creating yet another absolute debacle, but there has to be some sort of meeting in the middle to bring resolution so that the real people who count, the voters, not the power brokers and party wonks, can have THEIR say.

Nope, I just hate this everything about this woman, and cannot believe that people believe they "share" anything positive with her at all. Yes, Virginia, she is the common woman, affected so badly by the economic downturn just like 88 percent of you who voted. What an absolute crock. Oh, that's got to be it ... don't get me started!
-
Since I live in Michigan I will share my thoughts on Michigan.
First Gov. Granholm arrogantly decided to disobey the rules.
Michigan cannot afford a re-vote.
My thoughts until recently have been that Michigan's and Florida's delegates should not be seated. But as Sam said that is not right for those of us in those states.
There is no way that a re-vote could be done and be fair.
There were Democrats who voted for a Republican who would have voted for a Democrat. There were those who voted uncommitted that would most likely have voted for Obama but his name was not on the ballot. So if you voted once you could not vote again even though under other circumstances you would have voted differently.
If the delegates from those two states are to be seated there will have to be a plan for them to be seated without another vote.

LOL. Glad I'm not the only one going berserk over this, hee, hee.
Polls also indicate that she won 69 percent of whites and 70 percent of women. The old racist and sexist divide huh? The more civilized people get the more they remain the same don't they?

Hillary's managed to confuse the issue from getting our needs met, to getting her need met. Her method, divide and conquer . . .

i am so FREAKING sick of hearing hillary and everyone else chime in with the "Florida and Michigan should count" B/S!!!!1 They were warned that if they moved up their primaries, their votes would not count. they didn't care, they went ahead and did it anyways, and now just because the race has gone on longer than hillary freaking thought it would, she wants those votes to be counted.
hillary thought the bloody race would be over after iowa. IOWA!!! the nerve of this idiotic woman. and now all the sound bites i hear are about "the democratic process" and Michigan this and Florida that...it is absolutely absurd...hillary did not dig in for a fight for this nomination. she simply assumed she'd win it, what the hell is democratic about that?
it's about principle now...those votes in michigan and florida should not count because that's what was agreed upon when they held their primaries out of order. it's as simple as that. i am so sick of hearing about it.
hillary's arrogance shouldn't mean that those votes count. she didn't think this race would be long, plain and simple. that's why she's had to loan her bloody campaign more money. she needs to quit already before she kills the democrats more than she already has.
damn hillary

GO HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!
I love seeing the left splintering.
Quite a dilemma for them. Vote for the first woman, or the first Black.
Women should be able to see that once again, a woman is getting passed over by a man with less experience. Isn't this what the feminists fought?
I still wait for any Obama supporter to explain specifically what "change" Obama will bring'

MY goodness Sports!! All I can say is "WELL SAID!!!!"

-
CGull I never heard that about him, all I heard was first Al Gore snapped ( I was going to vote for the man till I witnessed this snap for myself), and then Kerry was a flake ( and he still is). I never heard Bush was inexperienced, just that he was a cowboy who didn't get A's in college.
As much as it makes sense, Navin, that if people disobey rules that they should be punished in this case it wasn't the entire lot of people, it was the heads of the DNC in Michigan and Florida who should be strung up by thier ears for what they did to thier constituents.
-
"change" from Bush to Obama is enough of a change for me...Obama has already proven that he's ready to change the game by not playing "dirty" politics...and for a guy who's had to deal with his own fair share of bullshit in the past couple of months...yet he's maintained his stance and not thrown dirt on hillary...he's already shown he's above the usual dirty politicians, and that's enough of a change for me.
and Samantha, you're right...the heads of the DNC in Michigan and Florida deserve the lions share of the blame...what drives me up the wall is Hillary's hypocracy...when she was assuming the nomination was her's and that the race would not be a long one, Michigan and Florida were not going to count and that was all well and dandy...now that the tables have turned and SHE HAS LOST THE NOMINATION she's bitching and moaning about the democratic process and it makes me sick...this morning on CNN's American Morning her strategist was now doing the delegate count INCLUDING Florida and Michigan's delegates...it was absolutely comical...
