CBS News blogger Fernando Suarez posts in his “From The Road” blog from Grafton, West Virginia, where he follows the campaign trail of Democratic co-frontrunner, Senator Hillary Clinton of New York.
Democratic co-frontrunner Senator Hillary Clinton of New York is still in the race despite requests from many in the Democratic Party to drop out. Currently, Clinton is stumping in West Virginia where it shows that she has strong support. While Clinton suffered greatly after May 6, there may be greener pastures ahead for her.
While stumping in West Virginia, Clinton would be in the hometown where Mother’s Day had originated from. This does seem to fit the mood as Clinton is still in the Democratic race, that she is a mother, her support is strong in West Virginia, and West Virginia is the state where Mother’s Day originated from one century ago.
While giving a speech, Clinton said that it is encoded in their DNA for hard work and resilience.
In a sense, Clinton was giving the indication that being President of the United States has been encoded in her genes and her DNA. However, Clinton’s campaign has suffered greatly throughout the Democratic race. While Clinton has won some major states, her campaign has been shaken up several times. She has lost several key people amidst controversies that plagued the campaign.
Key members have resigned and/or defected to the Obama campaign. Also, the delegate math is playing against Clinton. But, it is unknown how far the implications about DNA and the US presidency will take her.
