One of the final contestants on this year's American Idol has a family problem. David Archuleta's father Jeff has been banned from all further rehearsals.

Archuleta is one of the youngest contestants to make it into the competition. Sadly it appears his father is a bit of a problem when it comes to the rehearsals for the shows.

A source said that Jeff Archuleta was told that he is not welcome at rehearsals by the producers of the show.

Young David is a fan favorite making it into the top three. The seventeen-year-old from Murray, Utah could take the prize this year.

Jeff Archuleta's backstage involvement in changing lyrics has cost the show money. By adding a verse from Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" to "Stand By Me" Archuleta pushed the producers into action.

Fox would not comment on the incident. Archuleta was not reachable. The phone number listed in Murray, Utah is no longer in service.

Is it only me or does anyone else hate this kid? I have absolutely no idea why but I just can't stand him, it seems to me that everything about him is false/fake or put on. And he sings every single song the same way. During the week I think it was Neil Diamond, I thought he did awful and finally people were going to see but obviously not. I guess I will have to resign myself to the fact that this kid will probably be the next one, unfortunately.

I think in the end its going to be the two Davids but if America is smart they will vote for Cook to win. One, Archuleta is simply to young to handle the pressure in my opinion. Two Cook could take the recording contract and fly with it. He could be as on top of it as Kelly Clarkson.

I'm with the two davids. I was so glad to see dreds go.

If dad "A" cannot handle himself appropriately, he need not be backstage at all.

I adore David C first, then David A.

My 14 year old likes David A over Syesha but my husband says they are equally matched. My daughter likes David A too. My oldest thinks anyone other than cook is gay.

We are a David Cook family for sure.

Oh man! Want to know how cruel my kids are? Last week I had to miss the finals show and one of the girls called and said ya know that Cook guy.....well dreds is still there but..........

Finally the dreds guy is off ! Couldn't stand him and the kid (David) he drives me nuts it's like he should be one of those happy happy people that sing in Disney World ...makes me wanna smack em...perpetually happy people usually do though...ugh

David Cook is the only one the has stood out and shown he is a true all around performer, though from what I understand (could be wrong) he already was a professional performer before he ever went on Idol.

I'm with you. I feel sorry for the poor kid. With a dad like that no wonder everything is an act/put on for him, he can't relax with that tyrant sitting there in the audience. When parents try to live thru their kid's success they really screw up their kids.

I like that girl but maybe I'm the only one that does, lol. I hope she makes it to the final two, i.e. she and David Cook. I think that David A. is too young and what with the pressure from daddy dearest and the grueling task of making a record, touring, etc...I can't say what I want to say here or everyone else will jump on me and call me homophobic so 'nuff said.
