A radical move by a local Mayor has meant that subjects in their golden years can enjoy a few more fruitful antics under the bed clothes. The residents of a suburb of Santiago in Chile have been handed out Viagra pills
Thoughtful and inspired Mayor Gonzalo Navarette Munoz has made quite a name for himself in his local town as being the man who has given out a little help to those who still wish to live a fulfilling life in the bedroom department, despite their high age.
The move has been proposed by the mayor as he wishes to give the elder residents of the town a "better quality of life." Before becoming mayor, Navarette was a family doctor and found that many of his patients over a certain age complained the most about not being able to enjoy a good sex life.
Those who are up (pardon the pun) for free pills are to be men over the age of 60 and of a certain income who would normally not be able to afford the revolutionary Viagra. The pills will be freely available in much of Lo Prado, where there is a substantial amount of elderly men who come under the working class bracket, and who is going to fit the bill for all these older people enjoying the "free ride?" The taxpayer - to the tune of around$20,000 per year,
Speaking to the country's national press base, the mayor proudly said,
"This is about giving our elderly population a better quality of life."
Yet there is never, as we know, such a thing as a free lunch and the pills do come with a small catch - those wanting to receive his goody bag will have to pass a medical first - the mayor certainly won't any girlfriend or wife suing the government for the death of her partner at the point of no return because he was dealt out a handful for passion pills.
The pills are due to be handed out to those in need at their local surgery by the end of the week. So far, more than 1500 have put their names down.
Naturally their have been two schools of thought over this radical move - the mayor says he is looking after the older generations in his flock. Some are saying that it is just a political stunt to keep the votes high when it comes to the next election - this may have been said by those who failed to get on the list....
