Rogers Wireless, Canada’s largest cellphone provider, claims Apple's iPhone will be released later this year and will announce more details soon.
It is a mystery why Apple didn’t release iPhone to Canada sooner, even though Apple released iPhone in other parts of the world such as UK, France and Germany. But things are looking bright for Canada and may soon see Apple’s iPhone via Rogers Communications.
Chief Executive Ted Rogers made this statement via a press release.
We're thrilled to announce that we have a deal with Apple to bring the iPhone to Canada later this year. We can't tell you any more about it right now, but stay tuned.
Apple is rumored to phase out the current iPhone and plans to release a faster 3G version phone in June. Most likely, Canada also will have a 3G iPhone.
Rogers is Canada’s only GSM provider and will be the exclusive carrier for iPhone.
Rogers also made this claim last year but didn’t release the iPhone during the last Christmas holiday season. Will this second promise from Rogers become true?
