A Sprint customer wanted to switch her landline numbers to mobile numbers, the chat representative instead of helping the customer responded with, “No, are you nucking futz?”.
Pam is a Sprint customer for two and a half years and has three phone lines with them. The contracts for all three is about to end, she either had a choice to switch to another carrier or stay with Sprint, which offers unlimited plan and a great customer service.
Pam decided to stay with Sprint, but instead of keeping them as regular landline numbers she wanted to keep the numbers and make them as mobiles.
She contacted Sprint customer service and an online chat pop up message came on with a nice “May I help You” message. So, she decided to chat with the representative and the following conversion took place:
Jessica says: Hello, I’m a Sprint products and services expert. May I help you pick the plan that is best for you?
You (Pam) say: Can Sprint port in an existing landline number?
Jessica says: no are you nucking futs?
This chat is now complete. Thank you for the time.

Not only Jessica swore sort of but also ended the conversation abruptly.
Pam was very upset and she quit the site and contacted Consumerist, whether they can solve her problems.
I have been with Sprint also for the past three years, they are much better than Verizon or AT&T. I never had problems with them before, this must have been an isolated incident by either a stupid worker or a “chat bot gone wrong” type of scenario. If Sprint is using the later, they should remove it and put a real representative to help the customer. And contact Pam and apologize for the incident as soon as possible.
As far as Pam’s problem is concerned, Consumerist said she can convert it to a mobile number and it takes about a few weeks and they are federal rules.
