Fire Destroys Clinton Campaign Office In Indiana

A fire destroyed a campaign office for Hillary Clinton in Terre Haute, Indiana, this morning. Hillary Clinton was not in the office nor in town, but Bill Clinton stopped by shortly after the fire was put out.

The presidential campaign office for Hillary Clinton, one of the two Democratic presidential candidates, was located in Terre Haute, Indiana and luckily no one was hurt. There were two people inside the office at the time of the fire but a volunteer firefighter who was driving passed the building, observed the flames on the rooftop and warned the occupants of the building. Nothing at this time points to arson, but Terre Haute Fire Department spokesman, John Gardner, said, "But we're doing a full investigation on it like any other commercial structure fire." Gardner adds, "When they arrived on the scene flames were shooting out the top of it, and the vehicle in front was also involved in the fire." Damage to the building showed that the roof was partially collapsed and part of the front wall fell onto a parked car. A adjoined staffing agency office had water and smoke damage but no fire damage. Bill Clinton in response to a question from the press about whether this was a bad sign, replied, "No, I think this is a good omen. We'll rise from the ashes like the Phoenix."
