Cracker Barrel Old Country Store is recalling their 5-ounce bags of chocolate-covered peanuts and almonds because of mislabeling. Both packages my contain nuts that aren't meant to be in the package, which could cause a serious allergic reaction.
Lebanon, TN - The products being recalled are available in the Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores in 41 states. Both products are packaged alike: in a clear 5-ounce polybag with a red and white diamond pattern on the label.

The press release states that the
product labeled as containing chocolate-covered almonds may contain chocolate double-dipped peanuts and the product labeled as containing chocolate double-dipped peanuts may contain chocolate covered almonds. People who have an allergy or a severe sensitivity to peanuts or almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

What initiated the recall was a report by the management at Cracker Barrel after they received a shipment. The following investigation found that the problem was caused by a temporary breakdown in the supplier’s labeling and packaging processes. No other problems were found with other food products.

So far, no illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported. Cracker Barrel has no other active recalls at this time, nor are there any health risks for those who are not allergic to either peanuts or almonds..

How can I get in touch with Cracker Barrel?

I would like to let them know that I will gladly accept all of the recalled bags that have not been opened.
I will even pay the shipping cost. :-)
