This really is the end of innocence for one boy. A twelve year old boy was playing video games when he heard his mother scream from the other room. What happened next is disturbing.
The boy, unnamed at the moment, ran into the room to find his mother being attacked by Salomon Noubissie. He was straddling the boy's mother, assaulting her. The boy says he tried to stop him, yelling for him to get off her. Noubissie was choking her, and the boy says his pleas were being ignored. The boy then grabbed a knife and swung it at Noubissie's upper body, wounding him. Noubissie died from the injury.
The boy and his mother were staying at a boarding house when the attack occurred. The boy expressed remorse for his actions, but felt this was the only thing he could do to protect his mother.
