Gambling Causes Pastor To Be Banished From Church

by KJ Mullins.
A pastor from White Plains, New York has been accused of stealing from his church to support his gambling habit. Rev. Patrick Dunne has been removed from Our Lady Of Sorrows Church forever by the Archdiocese of New York.
Monsignor William Belford has stated that prosecutors are investigating the misuse of parish funds. The man of the cloth has a "very powerful" gambling addiction.

Prior to Thanksgiving the archdiocese's finance office reported on undocumented checks being cashed at the parish.

We do not know the extent of what took place and how much money was misused," said Belford, who described the scandal as an "enormous shock for the parish" and a "personal tragedy" for Dunne.
"So please understand that I cannot offer you any numbers or answer any questions" although Belford said that a large amount of church funds was involved.

Rev. Dunn had been away since Christmas time on an extended vacation.
