article imageHillary Clinton Vows to Stay in Presidential Race for 100 Years or more

By Chris V. Thangham     Mar 30, 2008 in Politics
Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton responded to a voter’s question about how long she plans to stay in the race . She replied that she will stay in the race for 100 years or more.
Hillary Clinton attended one of the town hall meetings in Erie, Pennsylvania today and shocked everyone with a quirky answer. One attendee asked her how long she will stay in the race. She responded:
"How much longer will I stay in the race? Fifty years? How about one hundred years?"
When they asked her for more clarifications, she replied:
I’ll stay in this race for a thousand years. A million years. A billion years. And to add more controversy she said she refuses to announce an exit strategy from the race because “that would send the wrong message to the enemy.”
She calls her own party member an enemy -- a sure sign of desperation?
Borowotiz, the comedian who wrote this article, said her comments reflects a recently leaked internal campaign memo, which calls for her to remain in the race even after the Democratic National Convention. Even if Sen. Obama becomes the party’s official nominee.
Clinton also was asked about the surge in negative attacks her campaign had used against Obama recently. She replied: “What can I tell you? The surge is working.”
Other news organizations have not reported on this news about Clinton staying in the race for another 100 years. Also, I am not sure whether Andy Borowitz, the comedian, is joking here or not. But it sure sounds like a typical Clinton response.
