Obama's Mentor In New Home
by Gar Swaffar.
Pastor Jeremiah Wright will be going into retirement in style, despite his sermons against materialism. The retirement home being built for him by Trinity United Church is not a modest bungalow.
Pastor Jeremiah Wright will find himself in a
comfortable new home upon his retirement. Pastor Wright will be moving to a gated community in Tinley park Ill. The home being built by Trinity United Church has an initial building loan for $1.6 million, plus an additional $10 million line of credit against it. The home at this time and the land it sits on belongs to the Trinity United Church, who bought the land from Pastor Wright.
The United Church of Christ and most Protestant denominations have no express vow of poverty placed on the clergy as do Buddhists and some others.
Cook County Register of Deeds has on hand documents which show Rev. Wright purchased two lots in 2004 and subsequently sold the lots to Trinity United Church in 2006 for approximately $38,000 less than he paid for the two lots.
There appear to be no irregularities in any of the transactions which took place. The issue is perhaps only the amount of rhetoric from the Good Reverends pulpit against the materialism of everyone else on the planet. Making the 10,000 + square foot just a little on the hypocritical side for some.
With the home in question at least Pastor Wright should easily be able to entertain his friend Barack Obama, even if Barack is elected to a political office of some sort.
