Pam Babcock, the 35-year-old woman who was found stuck to a toilet in March after two years, remains hospitalized from the wounds caused by the skin adhesions to the seat. Her boyfriend was charged last week for mistreatment.
In a bizarre tale of potty mayhem, a woman was reported by her boyfriend to police in early March. He claimed there was something “wrong”, according to Citizen Journalist Susan Duclos’ timely report on the situation.

A news source reported on Wednesday March 26, 2008 that Babcock was still in the hospital recovering from the procedures and pain associated with her skin growing to the toilet.

Her boyfriend, Kory McFarren, 37, believes that he did no wrong in allowing her to remain on the toilet for nearly two years. He said that she

feared leaving the bathroom and may not have left it in two years,……
although he said he was
unsure how long she was in there.

McFarren also stated that he
took her food and water daily

and that he
repeatedly asked her to come out
but that she usually replied
maybe tomorrow.

"The only thing I am guilty of is I didn't get her help sooner,"

The hospital has not given an official update on Babcock’s condition but a relative, Pat Bollinger, did say that Babcock’s condition is still serious, as she is in ICU at Via Christi Hospital, according to the news report.

Family members have not been allowed to visit Babcock but Bollinger has spoken to her on the phone, stating that she did not speak of the incident.

Only guilty of not getting help sooner?

I don't get this whole story at all. Was this woman mentally ill? That would explain her phobia of leaving the bathroom.

Her mother died when she was a child but she I'm not sure if there are any "confirmed" reports on mental illness, although its not an unsafe bet.

Did you read the link on her relatives conversation with her - it was reminescent of "old days"....odd.

She is probably stuck in (no pun intended) a time of childhood memories and even i the dreamworld and dream interpretation, bathrooms (tubs specifically) are safe ad clean.

Going through so much with my favorite psychologist who was also a dream interprete was actually my favourite part of therapy when I was getting through my being raped and sexually abused by my stepfather and the abuse by my ex husband.

    Depression can cause people to stay in bed and not leave for months, whats the difference of a toilet? I wonder if she flushed? {sorry.......}

During that one call, Babcock spoke little and mostly listened as Bollinger recounted happy family memories — time spent swimming, camping and boating — from the year Babcock lived with them in Arizona when she was in fifth grade.

Sounded like the whole family was caught up in the same time warp. If that was the way that they conversed with her, it almost infers that perhaps there is some mental and/or emotional issues there.

Darlin, are you sure it's just HIM that should be? Seems to me they're BOTH in need of some residential institutional time...

This whole situation seems like an episode of "The Twilight Zone":
    dudududu dudududu

Imagine taking a crap when your mind wanders back to a place of childhood ecstasy......a time before horrible tragedy struck...minutes become days; days turn into weeks; weeks into months and months into years.

You are frozen in time but manage to survive physically. A voice keeps calling out to you - summonsing you to the cold reality of what lies behind the wooden door. That door that brings you sustenance. Maybe you'll try tomorrow.

    You have entered

    The Twilight Zone......dudududu dudududu

Unless she asked for a phone to be brought to her, or to have some rescue unit contacted, I think that both she and the boyfriend are mentally lacking.

I can understand her severe embarrassment ....but almost two years? Not to be too graphic, wiping must have been quite a problem.
