By Gar Swaffar     Mar 25, 2008 in Crime
What seems like an epidemic of infanticide continues with the abandonment of a newborn by it's mother in Seligman Mo. The mother, who is sixteen years old was admitted to hospital in Bentonville Ark.
Another child is lost, the mother was still a young girl herself. At the age of sixteen tough choices are difficult to make. In this case the young girl made the wrong choice. In Seligman Mo. authorities were notified by the Bentonville, Ark hospital where the mother had been transferred to for surgery for hemorrhaging.
On being notified, the Barry County Sheriff's Department investigated the home and after contacting the juvenile's mother, were able to search the home. It was at that point the Sheriffs Deputies found the infant wrapped in a plastic bag in a closet.
Sheriff Mike Epperly of Barry County Mo. stated This is a hard case. All of the deputies and investigators that were on scene have been completely saddened by this discovery and the events that have taken place in our county
This saddens more than the people in Barry County, too many children are being lost.
