A Dying Child's Last Wish Denied
by ajzeller1979.
This is really sad. We all have a child in our lives in some way, and to think of that cute little kid with his or her cherubic faces and smiles and laughter living in horrible pain is almost too much to bear.
Jayci has terminal cancer. She has less than a month to live. Jayci has one request: She wants to be with her father before she dies. She wants to have her father at her bedside before she dies. She wants to see her father. Jayci's dying wish is being denied because her father is in prison.
Jayci's father, Jason Charles Yaeger is serving a sentence based on a drug conviction. A five year sentence where he is on the last year. He is being denied the chance to be with his little girl. Although these are extraordinary circumstances, he is being denied. She is dying of cancer, and he is locked in a room.
Granted, we all know that he is where he is due to his choices in life, but ultimately, this should be an exception. His daughter is in a hospice, where every new day is a gift, and he cannot be with her. The best he has right now is a phone call. Everyone who has kids in their life, if you can, look at that child.
Picture that child pale and lifeless, riddled with cancer, constant pain shooting through their body. Picture yourself now, and the only contact you have with this child is a phone call. You can't comfort your child, or hold him. You can't give him a cross on his forehead to protect him. No hugs, no kisses. Just a cold phone. Jason Charles Yeager put himself in prison, but ultimately, the punishment he and his daughter are enduring by far outweighs the crime.
