Former Beatle's popstar, Paul McCartney was ordered to pay Heather Mills a nearly $50 million USD settlement, ending the drawn-out divorce celebrity divorce saga. McCarney and Mills were married in 2002.
A London, England Judge ordered McCartney to pay Mills £24.3 million BP as a final monetary settlement in their divorce, according to a CNN report. This amount is around $2.4 million USD more than McCartney felt he should have to pay, but a far cry from the $250 million USD to which Mills believed she was entitled.
Mills and her attorney had grossly overestimated McCartney's estate at $1.6 billion USD, which Judge Hugh Bennet assessed at $800 million USD.
In addition, McCartney was also ordered to pay $70,000 per year for a nanny and school fees for their four-year-old daughter.
After losing her leg in a road accident in 1993, Mills began her career in campaigning and charity work.
"It was an incredible result in the end to secure mine and my daughter's future and that of all the charities that I obviously plan on helping and making a difference with -- because you know it has been my life for 20 years."
Nothing was reported on previous British news reports of her being a domestic violence abuse victim or her call girl status.
Another lucrative end to a celebrity marriage gone awry.
