Supporters of Senator Hillary Clinton are staging what they call a "strike" at the influential liberal website DailyKos in what is another sign of the turmoil in the Democratic party.
Daily Kos diarist 'Algere' started the 'strike' in response to what she calls 'distortions, lies' and 'sexist' attacks on Clinton.
Her diary thus far received over a thousand replies with some supportive, some criticising the tone of Clinton's campaign and some criticising the tone of Obama's campaign and others pointing out that vitriolic attacks were not the sole province of either set of supporters.
Mississippi exit polls however showed that Clinton supporters were the more hardened in their choice of candidate. Only 29% of Clinton supporters said they would be satisfied if either candidate won compared to 70% of Obama supporters.
However whichever candidate is selected will immediately be faced with the challenge of healing wounds brought about by a bitterly fought campaign.
