Venezuelan Forces Have Entered Colombia

by Mark L Harvey.
This is a developing story being reported by Fox news. Venezuelan military components have crossed into Columbia and have clashed with Columbian military components with shots being exchanged. The fighting is said to be light at this time.
I will update as the story unfolds...

First update from the Counter Terrorism Blog...this may be the cause of the movement of Venezuelan forces. It has been revealed since last week that Hugo Chavez has been financing and supporting FARC operations in Columbia and now, today:

News from Colombia keeps coming. This afternoon Colombian security killed Ivan Rios, another member of the FARC Estado Mayor Central (Central High Command.) This is the body that governs the organization. Raul Reyes, one of its members was killed last week, touching off a diplomatic spat. This latest strike took place within Colombian territory. [...]

The above report is mostly true except that he was killed by his own men...

The initial reports from El Universal indicates that a Venezuelan National Guard Unit encroached Colombian on the Paraguachón Bridge. Residents in the area began to throw rocks at the soldiers while Colombian authorities asked for restraint and not to fall for the "bait and switch" tactics.

[...] "The (Venezuelan) National Guard went into Colombian territory, trespassed the border, and apparently guns were shot in both sides," Antonio Hernández, an official with the Colombian Department of La Guajira told reporters, according to AFP.

Hernández called for calm among the inhabitants in the zone who threw stones at the Venezuelan patrol. "I am asking people to calm down, because we cannot fall into the trap of provocation," he said. [...]

On a note of interest, it is apparent that FARC is falling apart and the confirmation of that is the fact that the Latin leaders met today and smoothed the situation over.
