Canada has had over its fair share of snow this past winter. If the forecasters are right it's not over even as those in the Great White North count down the days until Spring finally will arrive. Oh and this spring is expected to be cold.
After a season of record snow fall in Canada the spring that will arrive on March 20 may not warm the bones of Canadians.

As the Canadian Press reports:
It really is the winter from Hell," senior Environment Canada senior climatologist Dave Phillips said.

Wednesday saw freezing rain in Nova Scotia, snow in New Brunswick and Ontario. Children may even be getting tired of snow days as they were yet again called in Prince Edward Island and part of Scotia.

This has been a season of delays at airports, Pearson International Airport had at least 200 flights delayed yesterday.

The snow in Toronto on Wednesday may be the last straw as city dwellers dealt with the slush.

As the Canadian Press reports:
It's not really the worst (storm) of the season," Phillips admitted, "But it really is the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak. There's a kind of weather rage, (with) a collective crying of 'uncle!'," he said.

And the news for Spring according to Phillips isn't going to make everyone jump up and down for joy.

As the Canadian Press reports:
"We're showing colder-than-normal conditions for the spring period," he explained, "It doesn't mean every day is going to be like that, but it means the flavour of the personality of the next three months should represent cooler conditions. I'm probably not going to put away my snow shovel until the long weekend in May," he said.

And those in central Ontario don't hide those shovels. Yep, snow this weekend. Again.

I keep thinking "Will this winter EVER end??"

Tomorrow afternoon and into Sat. here in Michigan we are supposed to get from 5 to 10 inches more of snow.
This with just digging out from about six inches of snow yesterday. Some got ten inches a little south of where I live.

Yes, they tell me it is a beautiful thing. Green stuff on the ground instead of white. It's such a distant memory.

Well, all you snow birds know that this is caused by global warming due to the use of your gasoline powered snow blowers and skidoos, and as the snow melts it will eventually flood Miami, and Los Angeles, New York and DC.... Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

My partner and I have been commenting about the amount of snow surrounding our co-op. When it all melts it will be flood city!

Flooding if the snow ever melts will be a major problem here as well, by the way what is green? :_)

My backyard has already turned into a skating rink due to melting snow. Now it is once again covered with snow.

When what we have now and are expected to get tomorrow and Sat. I hate to think of my backyard when all of that melts.

I hear tale from a long time ago in a land right ......well here, that this stuff called grass, and not the kind you smoke, covered the land making for a green carpet to run barefoot on. It may just be a rumor but I hope that this legend returns.

If you mix some of that big fiery ball in the sky and some of that sadness you feel because you have to stay indoors.....you get a great colour called GREEN and it is what you should see on the ground (I get to see it 95% of the year). I'll enjoy it for you. {sending green wishes your way)

LOL moments! Make sure you put down your pre emergent, or else those barefeet will be full of "goats heads" and unsighly dollar weed, clover, and a pluthora of less than lush carpet type greenery. :-)

No Sky I didn't. I got the picture from PhotoBucket.

LOL! At this point I would love to see some Spring weather! Did you get the ice storm? We had about 1/2 inch of ice, and lost power on and off during the night. Something was said about an explosion that left some 4500 customers in the dark.

No we didn't get an ice storm. They are terrible.
Today it has been mostly sunny and around 40. A heat wave!!!
Tomorrow the snow is supposed to start later in the day though.
