Police found three mutilated feet wearing running shoes washed ashore three times in less than a year. They are not sure whether they are from murdered victims or the remains from those who drowned.
It is baffling to the local police -- feet are washing up to the shore and they are not sure whether it is from the murdered victims or from the drowned victims.

In separate incidents, feet have washed up ashore along separate islands in the Strait of Georgia. Police are not sure whether all these three incidents are linked.

Royal Canadian Mounted Police Constable Annie Linteau said to the Associated Press that they are looking into all of their reported missing person files and try to match them with the victims. But with just the feet available, it will be hard to trace the body parts back to the people they came from.

Another concern is these feet might have traveled a long distance. Curtis Ebbesmeyer, a former professor of oceanography at the University of Washington who specializes in floating objects, said the feet could have drifted as far as 1,000 miles.

He speculated that the feet might have floated in the buoyant shoes after breaking from their decomposed bodies, possibly from people who might have drowned in a boating accident.

Recently, a small plane crashed near the area. Four men traveling in the plane were presumed dead but their bodies were not recovered. Some speculate the dismembered feet might have come from their bodies.

    Strange.
I certainly would not have liked to have been the person that found something like that!!

Thats odd......same body water; same body parts (different body, obviously).

Interesting observation on the flotation of these feetsies. I'm with Cynthia - I wouldn't have wanted to be the one who stumbled over these feet......I don't like stumblin' over my own and they are attached!

Weird its THREE RIGHT feet. Maybe its an alien.....humanoid centipede jogging on the shores in canada and was attacked on its right side by vicious machete weilding alien hunter. Highly unlikely, I know.

Not trying to make light of it but just very odd. very very odd that 3 righties; same water; all in tennis shoes? My brain is always outside of the box:

a seriel killer who targets a unique subset?

But I agree gull, Children finding this would be devastating.

Very macabre indeed. I would wager they are drowned victims and not murdered people.

Could be that sharks have an aversion to right feet in Nikes, or that eating that part of the body is against their religion or something to that effect?

LMAO! Gee, KB...you are too funny!

This is very weird...and I hope that these feet belong to drowning vics vs murdered vics.

Geesh this is horrible... I have a hard time not suspecting foul play... where is the rest of the body(ies)???

That foot (feet) has traveled a looong way in those shoes. (LOL)
This falls under "strange but true"!

Ya think? LOL. Any found body part would be considered, well, less than normal. But left in its shoe. Not so weird had it been in a "cole hahn" sized 12! :0)

The thought possibilities of body parts floating in clothing are endless! and grose. and weird. But 3.
