Gary Gygax, Creator of Dungeons and Dragons, Confirmed Dead

A post on an online forum now claims to have first-hand knowledge of the passing of Gary Gygax, known to many of us gamers as the father of Dungeons and Dragons. Many other sites have now picked up the story.

Not a lot of details other than the forum post here. [edit3 - see additional links added at the bottom] I will update this article as I find out more information, and retract it, should this prove to be some sort of false alarm. A good backgrounder on Gary Gygax [wiki], though if you are reading this, you probably all ready know who he is. Those of us who grew up playing D&D owe him a debt for one of our favorite childhood games. [edit1] Wikipedia and Slashdot have now both picked up the story, but slashdot here cites the same forum post I did.
