The return of the S N L writers has deftly identified the “orgazmatron” that Obama has become for the talking heads and newsreaders. With the race entering the final stages, Obama has won 13 consecutive primaries and S N L has chosen the winner!
Known for its political spoofing, hilarious skits and extreme comical portrayal of controversial situations going on in the world, Saturday Night Live leaves no stone unturned when searching for its prey. Over the last six years, Hillary Clinton has been seen as the queen of the mainstream media, with the Presidential Election of 2008 to be her coronation.
S N L, through wit and satire, has pointed out the ascendence of the new prince.
In a comic vignette where Brian Williams and Tim Russert are shown painfully tired of discussing Hillary’s healthcare plan, to the point where they are begging her to stop, the faux MSNBC team shows an obvious slant by setting Hillary up with questions that are either very difficult, or impossible to answer while providing Obama with the answers to the debate questions.
The Democratic Debate
Another poignant satirical element was the Robert Smigel cartoon, which pointed to the blatant absence of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson from their usual positions of prominence in recent Presidential Campaigns. The outrageous steps that the cartoonish Obama had to go through to absent them from his campaign stops rings humorously true.
The Obama Files
Viewers have more to look forward to as the campaign rhetoric intensifies.
