It makes sense, because otherwise planning birthday parties could be a little tricky. Well, there would be plenty of time to plan between parties, but the birthday girl or boy might feel a bit shortchanged. There are also some people who actually enjoy counting by Leap Years, especially those who have spent quite a bit of time on the planet. Later in life, counting by fours might seem like a great way to stay young. Imagine, being eighty years old and saying, 'I’m celebrating my twentieth birthday today.'
