Once again the red light flashing in the corner of my computer screen tells me a snow storm is on the way. Schools are closed but most businesses are open and I am off to the store.
The following is the storm warning we are receiving. It is capitalized as that is how it comes. The snow is light for now but the schools are closed.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM CURRENTLY PASSING JUST SOUTH OF NEW BRUNSWICK WILL CONTINUE TRACKING NORTHEASTWARD TO LIE OVER THE GULF OF ST LAWRENCE THIS AFTERNOON. JUST NORTH OF THE LOW A WINTERY MIX OF SNOW FREEZING RAIN AND ICE PELLETS HAS BEEN OBSERVED, WHILE FURTHER NORTH THE PRECIPITATION HAS FALLEN AS SNOW. IN GENERAL 10 TO 20 CENTIMETRES OF SNOW HAS ACCUMULATED

The City does a great job at snow removal but this year the falls have been so regular that there are snow mounds all around.

The annual Snow Fest was last weekend and there was no shortage of snow which made for excellent conditions for making snow sculptures which, for the first time were located around town.

One of the aspects of living here that I enjoy the most is being close to Nature, you do not have to leave town or stray that far from your front door to be near a little wildness.

If local legends hold true there will be one more major storm on St. Patrick's Day and if we have not yet broken a snow fall record we may well do so then.

    Great photos, Bob.

I am always amazed at the beauty of snow and ice. Despite the potential dangers and inconveniences that such storms can bring, they leave me in awe...

Bob, what a wonderful pictorial from the East coast you have shared with the members of Digital Journal community. The winter scenery and photography is amazing and very professionally done. Please stay warm :-)

We here in lower Michigan got hit Monday night and into Tuesday.
Where I live in Oakland County we didn't get as much snow as other places in Michigan just a few inches. The schools where I live were open but many schools in other cities were closed.

    Enjoy your snow storm Bob.:-)

I like your photos. Nice to see someone else with more snow than what we have. LOL

Thanks, there is great beauty ,as to the danger, just after and during a snow fall, there is a fine powder over the ice on the sidewalk just before they are plowed, and sprains and strains are common, as well as bruised bodies and egos.

SHOW! Yuck! I hate the stuff!

It is like a big, ill behaved sheepdog that knocks all the flower vases off tables with its tail or tracks mud on the carpet. It might be fun to play with from time to time but one should keep it out in the yard and not let it into the house. (;oP Woof!

Here in California we keep it up on the mountains where it belongs. LOL

There are plenty in my neighborhood. They walk down the middle of the street trespass in yards, eating grass that does not belong to them. Leaving a mess in the yard as they don't have the sense to use the ditch as their outhouse. :-(

No doubt, but the mistake you guys are making is to allow it down off the mountains and into your streets and front yards! Very ill behaved weather you guys got back there! ;o) LOL

We saw geese take over the roads, in small towns in northern Ontario. They did not move when the car came along but just kept on waddling.

I find it strange that our eyes see what is supposed to be there not what is actually there at times.

I didn't see "show" because the discussion is mostly about "snow" and I knew that was what Lensman was talking about.

    Nice photo essay!

Too darned many memories of snow plows and shovels and drifts and frozen sinuses and block heaters and snow boots for 'every' occasion for this lady!

When I miss the snow, I visit TELLURIDE, CO for a week (great hippy town and great skiing). Otherwise, I'm staying in the toasty warm weather of my southern home.

I just put liners in my boots and my feet stay warm. Nothing like a good pair of well worn leather boots.

And how many good pair of boots does a lady need?

I just heard that the part of Michigan where I live is to get another 3 to 5 inches of that white stuff starting around midnight.
