The DNC ruled that Michigan and Florida primary results wouldn’t be counted because both states violated party rules by holding early primaries. Clinton, who originally supported this decision, has changed position because it benefits her to do so.
Long time Clinton operative, Harold Ickes, supported the decision to disallow the Michigan and Florida results because they violated party primary rules while he was working for the DNC. Now that he is working for the Clinton campaign, he says that the results should be counted after all.
Newsmaxcom reports: "Harold Ickes, a top adviser to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's campaign who voted to strip Michigan and Florida of their delegates last year, now is arguing against the very penalty he helped pass."
When asked what has changed, he responded:
"There's been no change," …… "I wasn't acting as an agent for Mrs. Clinton. We stripped them of all their delegates in order to prevent campaigns to campaign in those states. ...Those were the rules, and we thought we had an obligation to enforce them."
Mrs. Clinton, having won both Michigan and Florida, stands to benefit significantly from counting the 313 delegates in question.
This video clip from "Meet The Press" speaks volumes. Be sure to watch all the way to the end.
