A very popular former First Lady took a fall this weekend and ended up having to be hospitalized. Fortunately it wasn't lethal. How bad was her spill, and why is she still in the hospital?
Former First Lady Nancy Reagan
fell at her home and was subsequently taken to a hospital as a precaution. It was initially feared that she broke her hip, but the initial diagnosis was negative. Reagan, 86, was taken to a Santa Monica hospital to make sure nothing else was damaged during her accident. Coincidentally, Reagan is staying the same room her husband, the late Ronald Reagan, stayed in when he broke his hip in 2001.
Joann Drake, chief of staff of the Reagan Foundation, contacted the press.
"She is doing well and is visiting with friends in her room," Drake said in a written statement issued Sunday night.
