While campaigning in New Hampshire last January, New York Senator Hillary Clinton said that Vladimir Putin doesn’t have a soul. The Russian president responded strongly against Clinton at a press conference yesterday.
When Hillary Clinton was
campaigning for the Democratic primary in New Hampshire last month, she talked about Russian President Vladimir Putin.
She said experience is a critical factor and compared Obama’s lack of experience to George W. Bush’s record. Clinton said jokingly if she had looked into Putin’s soul she would have told him he was a KGB agent and that he doesn’t have a soul.
Ben Smith of Politico.com tried to contact Putin’s government spokesman at that time and tried to get his response to that statement from Clinton, but he was unable to. But now, Putin reacted to that remark yesterday at a press conference.
Putin
lashed out at Hillary Clinton when one reporter quoted her as saying that former KGB officers have no soul:
At a minimum, a head of state should have a head.
Hillary Clinton can counter this remark once she becomes the head of state, but first she has a major hurdle to overcome -- the democratic primaries, which Obama is dominating.
Putin
spent four hours and 40 minutes fielding questions from the press on Thursday, and talked about his administration so far and the future of Russia. He will become the Prime Minister and will hand the presidency over to his friend Dimitry Medvedev.
