Even after protests worldwide and a plot to kill the cartoonists, Denmark’s three largest newspapers are unfazed and plan to reprint the Prophet Muhammad cartoon tomorrow.
Denmark's three largest newspapers will go ahead and reprint the cartoon that depicts the Prophet Muhammad wearing a bomb-shaped turban.
This announcement came after the arrests of three people suspected of
plotting to kill Kurt Westergaard, who drew one of the 12 cartoons depicting Prophet Muhammad.
The newspapers initially published the drawing in 2005 and in 2006, which led to boycotts of Denmark-made products and protests at their embassies worldwide. A few people also died in the aftermath.
But now the papers say they will not be intimidated by fanatics and have the right to publish it. They will publish it again.
In the religion of Islam, the portrayal of the prophet is prohibited. One of the main reasons is because they don’t want to glorify a human being -- only God.
No doubt, this will escalate tensions between Muslims and Non-Muslims worldwide.
Are Denmark's newspapers doing the right thing or the dumb thing by republishing the cartoons?
