Amy Winehouse will be a no show at this year's Grammy Awards. The singer has been denied a visa to gain entry into the United States. She has been nominated for six categories.
Winehouse's British publicists issued a statement after the singer was denied a visa.

"Unfortunately, her application for a visa to enter the United States of America has been rejected at this time by the American Embassy in London," the statement said.

"Amy has been treated well and fairly by the embassy staff, and thanks every one for their support in trying to make this happen," the statement said. "There will of course be other opportunities and she very much looks forward to visiting America in the near future."

The singer is currently in treatment for drug addiction. She entered into a clinic on January 24 after a home video was leaked showing her smoking something in a glass pipe. She had stated on the film that she had just taken six Valiums before the pipe was inhaled. Portions of the two minute video were posted on The Sun's Web site.

Winehouse has become more famous for her drug use than her songs. Her song "Rehab" is about she reluctance to enter into rehab. She spent some time in treatment during the summer of 2007.

In October Winehouse and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil were arrested at a hotel in Norway for marijuana possession.

Fielder-Civil is currently living in jail in London. He has been charged with perverting the course of justice following a bar fight.
