"SHOOT THE MAYOR!"

Tonight we learn a lesson we have learned time and time again. Gun violence is a growing problem in the United States. We allow the wrong people to obtain firearms and then we are surprised when they choose to use those weapons for evil.

Gun violence is real my friends, and tonights horrors are the reason why we have gun control laws. We will always have nutjobs like Ted Nugent who believe that we should use violence to prevent violence, but here is the reason why we do not arm the masses. Tonight, a madman burst into a city council meeting, murdering two police officers, three civilians and wounding the mayor of St. Louis. He was shouting "SHOOT THE MAYOR!" while firing shots into the chambers. Five people died tonight, with more wounded. This is the reality of gun violence. You cannot argue with the facts here. This person was able to get their hands on a gun, and, as a result, five people are dead.
