After the Super Tuesday battle on the Democratic side of things, it was a deadlocked battle between Democratic hopefuls Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. But, back in the Senate, both Senators though rivals chat and laugh.
After the Super Tuesday battle in 22 state primaries and caucuses, Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton returned to the Senate on Wednesday. Both of them briefly talked and let out a pair of loud laughs during a close vote on the Senate version of the economic stimulus plan proposed by Senate Democrats.
Both of them tried to set a different tone while in public. However, their closest advisers say that the race could last into the summer. Senator Ted Kennedy, D-Massachusetts was the one that broke the ice between both Clinton and Obama.
Kennedy at his own expense would cut in and make joins getting Obama to join in.
Both candidates looking for the Democratic nomination were pretty upbeat as they secured major wins on Super Tuesday which was to be proud of.
“
She’s in a great mood,” said Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-Michigan. She added: “They both look tired, and they’re both losing their voices.”
Before leaving the Senate, Obama was pulled aside for some jovial talk with Senator Larry Craig, R-Idaho. A national stir was caused when he was arrested in the men’s room of an airport.
Clinton was more strategic than talkative where she talked to Senator James Webb, D-Virginia. Webb has remained undecided in preparation for the Virginia primary on Tuesday.
However, John McCain, R-Arizona was missing from the Senate floor. He took a commanding lead for the Republican nomination for US President. Currently, McCain is the GOP frontrunner.
