Osama bin Laden's son wants to meet the pope

By Owen Weldon     Feb 5, 2008 in World
Omar bin Laden is one of the many children Osama bin Laden fathered and now in a bizarre news story Omar is seeking out a meeting with the pope. Omar is describes himself as a practicing Muslim.
Omar Bin Laden has said that he would like to meet the pope. Does the name sound familiar well it should because Omar Bin Laden is the son of Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.
Omar told a private television station in Italy that he wants to meet with the pope but Omar has been told that meeting the pope is not an easy task to complete.
Omar arrived in Rome on Monday along with his wife.
During the interview Omar told sources that he thinks that his father is still alive and if Osama was dead than he would know about it as well as every single person in the world.
Omar also told sources that he has not seen his father since 2000 and that he (Omar) felt bad for the victims of September 11th.
Omar has also stated that his father has a kind heart.
Why would the son of Osama bin Laden want to meet the pope and why would he say that his father has a kind heart when he has committed acts of violence upon so many people all over the world?
