CBS News blogger Dante Higgins posts in his “From The Road” blog from New York City, New York where US Republican hopeful John McCain had went into Grand Central Station and gotten another governor’s endorsement.
As John McCain entered Grand Central Station, he had received the endorsement of George Pataki, R-New York, the former governor of the state.
As I look at the challenges facing our country, our children and grandchildren’s future, it’s the battle against those who have attacked us in the past and those who want to attack us again. No one is better qualified, no one is more experienced. No one has more principled positions to win the war on terrorism than Senator McCain,” George Pataki had said.
Afterwards, Rudy Giuliani would take the microphone and brag about the bet he won against McCain during the Super Bowl.
Giuliani would say: “I admire John, I respect John. And as I said to John at several debates – No matter what happens we will continue to be friends.”
“We haven’t had a candidate like that since Ronald Reagan. Please Republicans, nominate a candidate that can win in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut,” Giuliani would say in McCain’s support.
