The antics of the paparazzi are nothing new but it is rare for one with that distinction to stop pursuing a particular celebrity. Nick Stern is concerned for Britney Spears’ safety and will no longer take part in the media assault against her.
Refusing to be part of the problem should something happen to her, Nick Stern resigned from Splash as well as from the continued media onslaught against Britney Spears.
"I could foresee the death of Britney Spears either directly or indirectly." He stated on The Early Show, as quoted by KDKA.com.
Clearly, this troubled young woman is dealing with personal problems and the constant barrage of cameras and microphones isn’t helping her cope with these issues, but instead shining a spotlight on them.
Stern noted that often there can be danger not only to celebrities but also to others nearby, citing an instance where a homeless woman was knocked down yet no one even slowed down much less helped her, as reported by KDKA.com.
While he’s concerned about finding future work, already finding it difficult in the US, Stern believes he did the right thing. In discussing his decision, he made it clear that he is not attempting to stifle legitimate reporting. However, sometimes, getting the latest celebrity story goes too far.
"The media surrounding her is now the story," said Stern.
