Rumors about the Dell GPhone are dead, but Apple has a new competitor now that GPS navigation company Garmin has developed their own smartphone for business called the Nüvifone, which is suppose to ship in the third quarter.
According to the
Alley Insider, just like Apple's iPhone, this Garmin phone has a large screen, touch-sensitive LCD screen, email, texting, web browser, music player, etc. The one thing it has, unlike the iPhone, is it has GPS navigation software, a video camera, and connects to "3G" data networks. It can also play movies or TV shows from Apple's iTunes store.
Unlike other wannabe iPhone killers, or anything running Microsoft's Windows Mobile, Garmin has seemed to have done quite a job in building this simple, attractive user interface. More information coming soon.
