A large, U.S. spy satellite that has lost power may hit the Earth in late February or March. Not much information has been disclosed at this time, but government officials say that the satellite could contain hazardous materials.
It is unknown at this time where the satellite would hit the Earth, but senior government officials say that other nations have been notified of the situation.
Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for the National Security Council, says that the satellite is being closely monitored at this time and reassures everyone that numerous satellites have hit the Earth harmlessly.
Johndroe also said, "We are looking at potential options to mitigate any possible damage this satellite may cause."
Officials have also noted that it would be inappropriate to discuss whether or not the satellite could be shot down by a missile. Much of the situation has been left undisclosed with the press due to the fact that the information is classified as top-secret.
