How Mitt Romney embarrassed himself in Florida by quoting Baha Men

It was the photo-op Mitt Romney would love to take back: Recently campaigning in Jacksonville, FL., the Republican candidate took a pic with African-Americans and then suddenly sang, "Who let the dogs out? Whoo whoo!" Digital Journal -- If Mitt Romney wanted to alienate himself from black America, he should be proud of his faux pas in Florida. On Martin Luther King Day, Romney walked through nieghbourhoods in Jacksonville, FL., and accepted a photo opportunity with some black youth in the area. What followed was pure comedic gold (and priceless YouTube material). As Romney huddled with several kids, looking as awkward as Bush dancing to African "riddims," the Republican presidential candidate gave in to some primal urge and spontaneously belted out: "Who let the dogs out?" Then followed the usual chorus-bark: "Whoo! Whoo!" He was quoting the popular song from the 1990s, the annoyingly repetitive "Who Let the Dogs Out?" by the Baha Men. For some reason. What exactly was Romney thinking? Did he want the black vote so badly he resorted to the last grade-7 party-song he heard on MTV? Yes, Mitt Romney is that out of touch with the next generation. But he did win the Wyoming caucus and the Michigan primary. He's got Mormons eating out of his nicely washed hands. There's a lot of momentum, oh wait, I mean, "mitt-mentum", leading off the new year. But one bad photo-op, showing his obvious discomfort in young urban populations, could hurt Romney when he heads into the heartland of Florida for the upcoming primary.
