Pick A Card, Any Card: A Lesson at the Nevada School of Voting

by Michelle Duffy.
It could be in the spirit of Las Vegas anyway and at least it shows there is laughter at the end of a political tunnel, and as many a wild west film will confirm - high stakes on a town are always won over a deck of cards
It is a pretty perfect concept if you ask around. The political race between Clinton and Obama has certainly put anything to do with British politics to shame. From across the pond, it is just as much news to Europe as it is to our American friends.

So, if the game wasn't complicated enough, a deck of cards depicting the various smiling faces of Barack Obama and Hilary Clinton seems to have won the election, or at least, taken people's minds off it for a while.

It was all set up in the most official of situations. The pack, not ruffled or man handled in any way was shuffled and a supporter from each camp was asked to step forward and pick a card and it was confirmed - Mr Obama won hands down on both occasions.

However, Ms Clinton's party must not feel let down by any means - her camp won on being the most popular.

It was hardly last stand at the OK Koral but it was close. At the elementary school somewhere in Genoa, the caucus chairwoman, Nancy Downey shuffled whilst supporters from both camps looked on. A Clinton supporter, namely Greg Kuntz pulled out a Hilary card with a five on it (not mention Hilary's face) followed by a supporter from the Obama camp who pulled out a king.

Naturally the HC camp won the pack which nailed one more delegate to the next exciting round of voting. At this stage around 10,000 of them will come face to face at county level.

Mr Kuntz told AP,

"I drew the five to lose to the king. Only in Nevada."
